In difficult trading conditions you may need to reduce your workforce.

Redundancy law requires that you deal with your employees fairly, by consulting with the pool of potentially redundant staff, considering such other work as may be available and making payments of statutory redundancy as appropriate.

Where more than 20 employees are being made redundant then a collective consultation procedure will apply.

A failure to address the redundancy process correctly will give rise to possible employee claims.
