Solicitor Negligence
We recently represented the buyers of a residential property in a claim for professional negligence against their conveyancing solicitors. During the conveyancing process, those solicitors failed to notify our clients of the true extent of a right of way over the property. After attempting to settle the matter through negotiations, we issued legal proceedings against the solicitors and soon afterwards settled the claim against them for an appropriate sum in damages.
Claim against Architects
We were consulted by a homeowner who had instructed an architect to oversee a building project at their property. The architect failed to perform its duties satisfactorily or at all and as a result the building works were delayed and poorly executed. As is common in building contracts, the relationship between our clients, the builder and the architect was governed by a JCT contract which specified that any disputes should be resolved through adjudication. Following that process, the adjudicator made findings against the architect and awarded significant damages to our client.
